Practical courses

HSE consists of a systematic interaction between several elements. A distinction is often made between technical and organizational measures. We believe that one of the most important success factors for HSE work is the competence and attitudes of the employees. PiD Solutions therefore spends large resources on training personnel.

When are courses and exercises appropriate?

Courses and exercises are used when it is important that personnel act correctly in potentially critical situations. All of our instructors have experience from the emergency services and training from them. They are therefore experienced in how people behave under stress. Courses and exercises are used to get personnel to understand how the technical safety measures work and/or are operated. The fire prevention regulations emphasize the importance of building users being informed about how the technical measures work. It is of course also essential that our course participants have good knowledge of – and understanding of – their own plans for handling crises. Too often, it is felt that businesses have good plans – that those who are supposed to execute them are unaware of.

Customer adaptation

It is important that the training is adapted to the individual customer and the course participants’ situation. We spend a lot of resources on making our scenarios as realistic as possible, so that the course participants get the best possible understanding of what they can expect in a real situation. Risk understanding and clarification of expectations are central concepts in our courses - especially within fire protection.

Combination of methods

All training and exercises must have as their main purpose that learning should take place. We think this is very important, and therefore try to sharpen this activity for the best possible effect. We have developed simple models where we use several teaching methods to achieve the best possible result.

Documentation

As a competence provider within the entire HSE spectrum, documentation is a matter of course for all training and exercise activities. A well-planned exercise can also be used as a test of technical and organizational measures. The evaluation and documentation of the exercise can, for example, form the basis for risk analysis or certification.
