Design Review

In construction cases, there are strict requirements that the fire safety design maintains a high professional quality and is in line with the building regulations (TEK17). To ensure this, a design review (UKPR) is carried out.

Independent design review (UKPR)

For measures in measure classes 2 and 3, which involve more complex or risky buildings, an independent design review (UKPR) is required. UKPR must be carried out by an enterprise that is professionally and organizationally independent of the one that has prepared the fire concept, in accordance with Section 14-2 of the Building Regulations (SAK10).

The purpose is to ensure that the design provides a reasonable level of safety, and that deviations from the guidance are well documented and assessed.

In measure class 1, there is no requirement for UKPR, but it can be carried out as a voluntary quality control if desired.
