Design review
In building application processes, there are strict requirements that the fire safety design maintains a high professional quality and is in line with the building regulations (TEK17). To ensure this, a design review (UKPR) is carried out.
Independent design review (UKPR) x
For measures in project classes 2 and 3, which involve more complex or risky building projects, an independent design review (UKPR) is required. UKPR must be carried out by an enterprise that is professionally and organizationally independent of the one that has prepared the fire safety design, in accordance with § 14-2 of the Building Application Regulations (SAK10).
The purpose is to give quality assurance that the design provides a reasonable level of safety, and that deviations from the guidelines are well documented and assessed.
In project class 1, there is no requirement for UKPR, but it can be carried out as a voluntary quality control if desired.
